Everyone wants stadium expansion....what's your ideal expansion?

I don't think attendance will grow much, if any.
Ticket prices where they are. 70" TVs are the norm. Surround sound in homes. More angles to see plays. I just don't see Arkansas drawing 80k on the regular for games.
So.....having said that....we still need the north end bowled in to help with holding crowd noise in.
Expansion is going to happen...I've heard within two years...they're getting ready now to expand Razorback Road as we speak...
I would suggest creating a new concourse in the north end zone, taking seats down from atop south end zone and planting 2k outdoor club and then 2k bleacher seats above those...this still keeps a sold out stadium at 76k, which we do hit for big games, but could also allow for more standing room only tickets to be sold...
I never have sat in the NE visitor area, nor have I ever sat in section 107, but I would imagine those folks would greatly appreciate a food court closer to them than the south concourse area....

if the team is going to finish at least a couple of games over .500 then the stadium will be basically full or at least the tickets will be sold.
Right now though the game experience at home is often better than at the stadium.

Tailgating. That's how you get the $ to come out. Start selling "all inclusive" packages. Folks check in at a hotel, catch a bus to tent. Kids play games and shite while Moms and Dads get blitzed. Go to the games - heard everyone back on the bus back to the hotel - profit.
People want to get out - they just don't want to deal with the bullshite. Staying at home is easier.

All seats become chairbacks except the student section.
Bowl the north end. Keep capacity around 70k.

Tickets are still cheap, our neighbors to the west pay far more to sit on their hands and say "boomer" a few times a game...

That would be nice.

I'm curious how the parking lots behind the stadium are going to be left. Will they build a big concert support wall?
Things will look much different. That's for sure.

Probably large ugly cast in place retaining walls. Knowing AHTD they will be 50x bigger than necessary. Or a ugly cheap precast wall (think those walls you see around subdivisions like in Centerton). I wouls say level it to the university's property line and put a surface lot.
I'm on my phone but I will check AHTDs website when I get to a computer and see if there are any conceptual plans online
First phase is only MLK to Leroy Pond though. And to give you an idea, the current Garland project began design at AHTD in 2006 and is began construction in 2012

AHTD job 040581, Hwy 180 to Leroy Pond
Skip to sheet 17 for the juicy stuff. I hate reading AHTD plans for a multitude of reasons, including no leading dimension lines, and they put their erosion control and signing up front
There will be a stoplight at Leroy Pond. 2 lanes each direction with a left turn bay for traffic coming from the north

Chair backs for everyone except student section would be great. Expand north endzone into a bowl. Seats on top of the Broyles complex would increase capacity but idk if it would be a good look. Getting rid of those ugly green bleachers on top of the south endzone and putting in 2k outdoor club/bleacher seats would be nice as well.

I know they'll never do it, but what Razorback Rd needs behind the west stands is to be dug down about 30 feet and have a plaza built over the top, joining that parking area with the stadium.

Love the chair back idea.
Curious how expensive lowering and covering Razorback road would be. How far?

4 lanes will be massive behind the stadium....I was hoping for just the addition of a turning lane...which would allow for 2 lanes of traffic heading south after games and negate congestion during normal school hours....
I think 4 lanes is a little much imo

Was supposed to have this past summer.

expansion won't get us more butts in the seats we need to start winning again before we expand or we'll have giant empty sections and need to raise ticket prices to cover the expansion thus reducing attendance a little more.

4 lanes is only to leroy pond. AHTD doesn't have anything for further north drawn up yet (and won't for years)
It may not be 4 behind the stadium. AHTD is big on having at least 11' wide lanes, and it will be a tight squeeze to get that.
Plans for widening to Leroy Pond are still marked preliminary, so nothing will start for awhile

AHTD thinks we should just be satisfied with the Hwy. 265 widening they did
Little Rock comes first, second and third for them. Then Pine Bluff comes fourth , then Texarkana, etc etc
