I would like to propose that anyone planning to attend a Mizzou football game should be required to attend a Chiefs game at Arrowhead and agree to learn how to do it right. If everyone isn't involved in making noise on third down and other key defensive downs, it isn't working. I notice people around me (alumni side) not making a peep the entire game.

A Mizzou fan training camp is in order. Right now I'm afraid we are welcoming opposing teams to the "Petting Zou".

I second this. Also, what the hell is the deal with shaking your keys? Has this always been done?

Our fans are shitty. This isn't really news, and sadly it probably won't change.

Amen I've been saying this for a long time now. The alumni waiting to take their seats two minutes before kickoffs is shite. Then when they get there they act like they're auditioning for a role in a haunted house and sit there like a bunch of zombies. If you don't want to go stay at home and watch it on T.V. We have the worst group of alumni in the entire nation and it's not even close. Granted the student section has had some poor performances, but it's hard for us to make up for 35,000 empty seats on the West Side of the stadium.

This isn't unusual in the SEC. I know Alabama and Georgia have similar problems, probably Tennessee as well. Both fortunately and unfortunately, the waiting list for season tickets lasts a long, long time. So by the time people actually get them, they're in their 40s and 50s and feel above making noise (which I can respect to an extent). Just know that LSU and Florida aren't the norm, but the exception (and I would never want to be their fanbase)

Being Loud Doesn't Help

I call BS on this. If a QB cannot effectively audible the advantage goes to the home team. Merely being loud may not help, but being disruptively loud has to.

At least the alumni side is full of people, unlike the student side on too many occasions.

I'm going to tell you this straight. If you want to know why fans are quiet/uninterested in the games, then there are two things to keep in mind. First, we have played nobody that anyone cares about. Second, this being what I believe to be the bigger problem, we as a fan base are negative. I have read too many times this year how we will be lucky to win any games. Why should we be excited at a game if we think we are going to lose? If you need an example of the low expectations just read what you guys post everyday in this forum.
