he was shown on TV after the game punching an Ark. fan who had been throwing stadium seats at the band down below, and he had had enough of it. His father called him and said he saw him on TV. He "sat" three weekends for it and believes it was worth it - sitting a weekend Corps guys know about. I sat plenty myself and will spare the details, but it is definitely not a fun experience. In Aggie-speak his sacrifice is called "good bull"
Damn, good on him
I never sat an R-Dub, myself. Mainly because I would have died if I had to miss a football game
The one time I did have to sit one......I skipped out and they never noticed me missing. Still don't know how the hell that happened

Or, we can see them any year we choose by going to Arlington.
But nobody is going to the game to watch your band.
Quit being all cray.
I saw the Aggie band three years in a row up until last season.
I'm good. Satisfied. Not missing the Aggie band.

In truth, when you leave the smack talk behind I've yet to meet many that weren't pretty cool post-service despite the occasional single person they hated, especially as long as no one claims to do more than they did. The exception being REMFs who almost by definition have a nasty habit of telling tall tales and getting everyone united against them.
Sorta like SEC fans. One big happy dysfunctional family that when push comes to shove has one another's back against that a-hole.

Is Stonehog getting Johnny plastered and roofied like we planned?

From the looks of things our student body is a bunch of wussies.
Standing out in the parking lot. When i was 18 I'd have walked into the middle of that group and called the Hogs the whole time.

Not sure but I left him a wake up call for every hour on the hour to take medicine to help him with his stomach virus.

I was in Razorback Band from 88-91 and the aggie band marched in F ville in 88 and 90. Razorback band marched in Aggie land 89 and 90. They should should have let the band play. Screw the dog!

Hopefully we have a 1988 redux. Steve Atwater was blowing fools up in that game.

You understand I was replying to an Arkansas fan who said this was a "disservice to the fans", right?

In all honesty it's what makes the SEC who we are and one of aspects that we must preserve at all costs. Without that, we're just a collection of teams in a conference that could implode due to too much infighting. Tailgating and fan interaction also keeps our attendance afloat even when teams go through down cycles and given the trends we can't afford to lose that either. No matter how heated things get it's imperative we remember this and come back to it.
It speaks volumes that the SEC is the only major conference with no exit fee or 'grant of rights' that steals a team's tv earnings should they leave. The lack of infighting and pettiness (outside of when our teams are playing or we're simply talking smack) is one of the reasons why we succeed. The other is that we all believe that the SEC plays the best football in America and always has. An outside team may win a championship but we have the best conference in the US -- unparalleled by any other.
