Throughout the 2013-14 season,UKathletics.com and CoachCal.com will be here to serve as your primary source for Kentucky basketball coverage. From feature stories to game coverage, video and more, we pride ourselves on being your one-stop shop for all things UK basketball. However, nobody can paint the picture quite like the people who create the artwork. Throughout the 2013-14 year, the players who make the stories will share in writing a season-long blog to share with the Big Blue Nation their experiences, their thoughts and how the year develops in their own eyes. First up is freshman forward Marcus Lee.

Good stuff. You know Booker had started doing a blog about his recruiting. Can't remember if it was for U.S. Today or who. Thought it would be kind of interesting but then it just kind of went no where after a couple.

I really like hearing the player's perspectives as they're going through it. Really can't wait to see this group on the court. Should be an exciting year.

No surprise at the top with UK.

A little surprised they have Mizzou as high as they do. Usually they take a wait and see approach with Mizzou.

I'm sure y'all already saw these, but I thought it was pretty cool. The guys look like they're having more fun than the kids. Not just going through the motions. I hope this isn't where WCS hurt his hand.

Dominique Hawkins Blog

Probably going to be one of my favorite kids on this team. He's literally living the dream in that he grew up in the state of Kentucky as a huge UK fan and got a scholarship offer after winning the state championship (upsetting Louisville Ballard which I believe was the favorite).

Really loved this bit:

Right now, I'm definitely looking forward to Big Blue Madness because I've watched it before. I've always wanted to be that person to go on that stage and have all the Kentucky fans yelling for me. That's going to be a special moment for me. I'm blessed to be on this team and to be able to do something like that. It's going to be fun to be able to do something like that with my teammates that I'm becoming brothers with.

I have something special planned but I'm not going to let it out yet.

I can't wait to see Hawkins play/mature over the next few years. I think he's going to be a solid contributor by the time he's done, kid plays with heart.

I really wish you guys were playing kU this year instead of Florida. Had to listen to them all weekend, not dogging MU, but dogging UK. They truly believe their program sits above everyone. According to them, the mystique of Coach Cal is going to blow up this year when this group of freshmen fails as big as last years group of freshmen. His words not mine. Sorry for venting on your board, but if they won't play MU I would so love to see you guys kick the crap out of them. Florida kicking the crap out of them will do in the meantime.

You're fine.

I've heard some of their fans chirping since they landed Wiggins. Unfortunately for them, their big talent begins and ends with him in comparison to what we have. Personally I think last season's team was an anomaly. We didn't have a PG for a portion of the season when those guys would've been jelling. Poythress under performed quite a bit and the guys apparently just didn't mix as well. It happens and we'll have those years with the way we recruit.

From all accounts this team is much like the 2012 team in terms of how well they're getting along and really meshing well. You can sense it in Cal's press conferences. And a lot of the pro guys who have come back to shoot around with the team when in town seem to echo that they're much better. And they REALLY like Julius Randle.

Given the swagger some of the team has I'm sure we'll get plenty of "tPOS"s thrown out there. There's already accusations that the Harrison twins will take the team down with their egos. Mostly by Louisville fans pissed off that they're not preseason #1.

Well, if I get my way, y'all meet up in the tourney and you take them by 30. Thug it up all night long.

I'd certainly love to beat them again. They were awfully salty when we handled them not once, but twice, in the 2012 season.
