The people complaining about Bielema's play calling obviously didn't see the absolutely terrible throws that Derpy made in the high pressure situations. He missed receivers badly. Hell even his TD pass was underthrown and Herndon had to make a play on it. This is a blowout with Allen, plain and simple.

Now who's fault is it that we have such a shitty, ill prepared backup?

Okay I've calmed down

the only real gripe i have about the coaching is that Derby was playing in the first place. I dont' have a big problem with the play calling given how bad derby sucks, but i am just pissed he's our only option. i can't believe he's the best we have right now. i would have called hte same game basically if derby was my only option

it just hurts man. we won the turnover margin by 3. they couldn't dojack shite with our D line all day. and a shitty rugby punt and a stupid late hit cost us the game.

it's growing pains basically. but it still hurts.

Derby, even tho he is a poor qb, did just enough. Lake's baffling personal foul and Irwin's horrible punt are the first 2 things I would blame. After seeing what happened last week, I fully expected what I saw from Derby today.

For real think about it. With Brandon Mitchell we'd have been fine. When he was gone we all knew any decent backup play for this season wasn't gonna happen. You can't just throw a true freshman out there because his name is Allen and he has 4 stars next to his name. Who knows if he'd have been ready. Derby is a pile of shite but this year is its gonna be either Brandon Allen or a pile of shite no matter who the backup is.

coaches didn't trust their QB until forced to. i still have a problem with trying to run the ball on an eight man front. at least put three out wide and see if you can run against 6.
Bad DB play. Failure to make the plays in front of you and bad coaching = you lose.

This is my big complaint. Yea, Derby sucked, but it's not an excuse for shutting down your offense. And if Derby is this bad, then why not give Austin Allen a chance? Would Allen have missed receivers worse then Derby?

It's not so different from our rushing game sucking under Petrino, but Petrino didn't change his offense and stop running the ball. I don't mind running the ball, but I hate being predictable, because that old school stuff didn't work great for us 30 years ago and it doesn't work great for anyone these days.
