JFF has more interceptions than Cam
JFF has had NFL quality receivers on his team. Swope was All SEC and Mike Evans will be All SEC / is best receiver in the conference
Cam's "great runningback" was a freshman.
We have measured the stats a million times and compared and there is no way that JFF comes even close to Cam. It is a stupid fricking argument

He threw TWO more pics than Cam last year. And Johnny had over 150 more attempts and yet a better completion %.
And that was last year. He's markedly better as a passer in '13.

Considering he shattered Cam's yardage record in 2 less games while playing his first season of collegiate football, no, it's really not a stupid fricking argument. It is in fact a close call. I know that bothers fans because Cam appeared to be a once-in-a-generation player with regard to dominance.
Well he's not.
If you want to give Cam the nod based on hardware, that's fine. But there are plenty of stat-based arguments--those that look at the two players in the most individualized way--that tilt the scale in JFF's favor. They're not necessarily conclusive, but they're certainly compelling. What they're definitely not is "fricking stupid."

This matters not. Trent Richardson and TJ Yeldon were game changers as freshmen running backs.

quote:...who broke Bo Jackson's record for yards as a freshman RB (he wasn't close to being as good as Bo, but he was really good). Also, JM was a freshman last (did it make him less great?)... Also, it was the first year for the Aggies in the SEC - a serious undertaking.

Cam was a freak.
JM is a freak.
