Trying to give an honest answer here. I think others have hit the nail on the head.

So, the answer has little to do with the rest of the SEC and more to do with Texas A&M. When A&M feels that they are part of a fellowship of football greatness in the SEC conference to take great pride in and not a seperate, rogue, rebellious newcomer who is here to stake the Texas flag and proclaim Texas might then perhaps you'll feel like you've been accepted as equals.

So in order for A&M to feel equal, they must feel equal.

It's funny, because before last season the A&M attitude was perfect. Humble, grateful, excited, etc. It was the Mizzou fanbase that came with all the chest pumping and "we're going to show you" attitude. That has reversed. Since you have been successful it has morphed into an opportunity to drive that Texas stake in the dirt and let it be known.

It would happen to any fanbase. A&M isn't different in that regard. Just need to be humbled a bit on the field is all.

A lot of that was because how much we were beat down, by both SEC folks and Big 12 folks, that "the move was a mistake, you will never win a SEC game, you will be a bottom dweller in that league forever."

When we were given an opportunity to prove the haters wrong early on, we jumped all over it.

You really don't know what kind of crazy stockholm syndrome we have dealing with Texas for so long. If anything our quiet beginning was the real fricked up part.
