Reminds me of what has been written about the Shootout with Archie Manning. Scott Hunter had better stats and won the game but Manning got all the awards.

Schenkel said in his interview with Watkins that there was "lightning in every stride" each time Manning ran with the ball. He would end up with 540 yards of total offense. In all, Ole Miss finished with 609 yards of offense-albeit in a losing effort.
As for Hunter, he went 22-of-29 for 300 yards and the lone touchdown to Ranager.
