That's really the only thing that can curtail this. The problem is that the NFL usually leaves agent oversight to the NFLPA, and what incentive does the NFLPA have to stop this. if the NFL moved in to regukate agents more fiercely, then they could spark yet another war between themselves and the players.

This is no doubt true. And, hell, very likely a majority of the NFLPA I'm guessing benefited from these agents' bribes.

But the incentive would have to be the league management, the commish, etc. realizing the amazing system they have via college football functioning as a free talent search/development service and the risk of losing that. Academia is very powerful and a movement to change the system could come into play the more these scandals are brought to light.

Then, convincing the players how it is beneficial to the league as a whole.

I would add also add that the players are benefiting from this system much more than the agents who are throwing them $500-$1000 here and there.

Just think, these players are benefiting from the popularity of college football... not the NFL. The huge following college football has thanks to alumni-bases and local fan support and how that translates to being on national TV every Saturday is a great system for them to showcase their talents.

Not only that, they get the opportunity to get a degree or at least approach a degree in case football doesn't work out or in case they want to take another path in their careers once football is over.

Would be a tough sell, but it should be sold as whats best for the sport as a whole.
