Alabama has baseball fans-- however, unlike Baton Rouge, or Columbia where the metro population is huge and the baseball experience is awesome, the appeal just isn't there.
Alabama with a new stadium (that hopefully has a drinking berm/outfield situation like Swayze Field at Ole Miss for students), will foster in a new passion that our team hasn't seen since the 90's.
For those that watched Alabama baseball last year, the team made great strides, performed well in the SEC tourney, and despite the collapse at regionals, made a great run for a young team. With a new stadium in tow, the program is something that I look forward to cheering on now, and live in the near future.
Our current baseball stadium is pure garbage, and I'm excited to get rid of that eye sore.
