You are all getting tangled up in media, hype, ratings, money - and confusing the topics.

Clowning will be drafted very highly even if his numbers are down if film shows teams are not challenging him. He does look winded. He needs to get in shape - he will - probably in 2 weeks.

ESPN is pushing him for Heisman and giving JFF the business because they do not want their 300 million dollar investment in Texas to return nodda.

Another Heisman by JFF means another free 50 mil in advertising and complete ownership of the state of texas. ESPN does not want that.

Point is - don't worry about the news. The Show will come calling. Look at Honey Badger.

All these idiots saying JFF costing himself money - right - CBS wants a JFF cam. Teams may trade up to put asses in seats.

Remember the media is playing it for their gain - that never equals what is best for the athlete.

ESPN guys are scum bags. The only reason they are not all over Urban is he has a chance to pull the Big 10 out of the basement and its "herbies" place.

Clowney is gonna be fine. He doesn't need to worry about the Heisman and the hype. The media built it up to high for a defensive player.

Clowney is a beast - now he is talking shite about how coaches don't have him in the right spot. But not a big story ....yet. ESPN still loving him.

He just needs to play ball - he will go high and have a great career. The same scum bags messing with JFF are messing with JC. Different ways.

Spurrier agreed with him, fwiw.

Hard to make much of a news story about it now.

Overall I agree with you.

If Clowney gets locked in a gym with NFL trainers for 12 weeks, he'll emerge looking like a Greek God and ready to change some shitty (low pick) NFL team's pass rush from shitty to good.

The only question on whether or not he goes #1 is who is getting the #1 pick.

If it's a team like the Falcons with no pass rush, Clowney would be #1.

If it's a team with no quarterback, then it will be Aaron MurCarron.

Even if a person has their reasons for thinking Clowney is over rated, you still have to look at the NFL as a whole and how important pass rush is, and how many teams lack it on the edge, and look at who would be a better pick than Clowney if you are looking for that.

I've also heard some chatter on the radio about how some 3-4 teams might not be as interested, but seeing as how it looks like Clowney might be moving around and playing some different roles, that could change as well.
