A&M has basically used the last 2 games as scrimmages on D to figure out who could earn PT.

Pshhhht! This is more spin than someone running for president puts out. Wishful thinking. Truth is, our defense just blows goats this year. Prepare yourself for a shock if you really think we've just been sandbagging and talent-scouting instead of trying our best and still looking awful, which is the truth.

The only legitimate way teams sandbag is to keep the play-calling conservative/vanilla. Thinking an 18 - 22 year old kid is going to take plays off to "trick" upcoming opponents is ridiculous. I hope your D is as bad as you think and I hope our Offense is way better than I think.

I may just have a heart attack before this weekend.

We are basically playing with our second team defense in the first 2 games. Give up 28 points all game to SHSU and last year they gave up 28 in 1.5 quarters. We played 2 decent offenses and we dont exactly run 8 minute scoring drives on offense ourselves. Again, its not nearly as bad you think plus bamas offense thrives on the short field and turnovers. They're not a 75 yard TD drive team.

Didn't say our defense was great or even good, I also brought up the biggest concern is the Raven injury which is why Honeycutt is starting.

They DID rotate heavily though, esp in the Front 7. They were seeing who could make plays and who couldn't. Some stepped up (Hall, Golden, Claiborne) and some looked terrible (Baggs and Sanders, though Sanders came around against Sam). Askew and a couple others are a work in progress, making a play here and blowing one there.

The weakness though is absolutely at Safety. The Front 7 isn't great but it will be fine. The CB's will be fine. Matthews and Honeycutt at Safety though is very concerning. There are ways to conceal it but they carry risks of their own.
