Wrong. The term is "soda pop". Soda is the adjective and pop is the noun. Calling soda pop "soda" would be like calling a Diet Coke "diet". No, it is a coke, what kind of coke - diet. The same with soda pop - what kind of pop would be a "soda" pop.

Soda is an adjective modifying the noun pop. See how simple that is.
