When you're trying to run the clock out and you have to call timeout, that is a clock management issue, a comical one at that. You did the defense a favor because they didn't have to burn a timeout. (I feel like I'm explaining football to my grandma.) Go back and look at that play if you want, Lsu wasn't just trying to run down the play clock and call timeout, they were trying to run a play there but they couldn't due to confusion.

The announcers made mention of Cameron being new and needing to get on the same page as everyone else. Mett was visibly irritated and kept throwing his hands up. They had to call timeout to avoid a penalty, it wasn't like they planned it that way.

I was never saying it was planned and optimal. I am saying that you are making a mountain out of a mole hill and that it didnt matter. See bolded above. If they were going to call a timeout, dont you think they would have done it before the play clock was at 1 second. This cost us nothing except one timeout and this situation is the reason you keep them. I am through nit picking this one insignificant play.

I think you and I were having two different arguments. I was arguing that Lsu shouldn't have called a timeout because if they just ran a play, TCU would have to burn one of theirs.

You were arguing what a timeout actually does in a literal sense. I think we're on the same page now.
