After last night, I almost was afraid that the end of the world was here based on a few fans perspectives, fans who shall remain nameless ( like whopper, kneehigh, deeprig, buddy, etc ) in light of focusing on the positive aspects of what happened last night.
There are twenty different threads about what went down last night and how we are either ok or we are screwed for the rest of the year. You all know me, I'm as positive as they come, and honestly, I was not very upset with the outcome of this game.
This game had the potential to be a USCe game all over again, but I saw a team that played with a lot of heart, enthusiasm and ability. I also saw some areas where they need to work on some things and get better, like the o line protection, and definitely adding some playcalling. I will venture a guess though and say that UGA used about 45% of the actual playbook last night, not because they didn't want to win, but because they want to win the sec and a possible natty more. Much of the offense was very vanilla, with the same calls to either side of the field, and not only that, not a lot of wrinkles in the game plan. I feel that Richt felt that he could win that game with half of the play book, and dang if he didn't come close.
38-35 tothe number 8 team in the country, with the stats we had, is not a terrible night, and if we had to lose a game, this was the one you wanted to be it.
I do think that the team will be much more ready for USCe than many of you think, and I think you will see a different kind of playcalling against the gamecocks.
Be positive, and know that the Dawgs want to win as much as we all want them to. Go Dawgs!

1-3 in September wind. Wish I had better news but that's the reality of it all.

Agree. Honestly, in the 2nd half when their DL started dominating our OL, I told my wife that it might end up being a blowout. It was definitely hard to watch. That play calling on the goal line when we went for the botched FG really pissed me off. And then after we came back and that 3 points ended up being the difference in the game I was distraught to say the least.

UGA vs Clemson rematch for the Natty works for me, but of course ESPN would say no re-matches because Bama is not involved.

What the frick are you talking about? What post did I make that was negative about last night?
Posted on 9/1/13 at 4:54 pm to Firewind

It saddens me to have to sit back and watch a righteous and virtuous man like yourself have to wade into this bile and shite-filled sewer of no faith.......
We probably aren't even worthy.
I thank you for your selflessness....and your wisdom and guidance during this dark time, Firewind.

Answer me a-hole.
Where did I say anything negative about last night?

I saw a lot of the same things you did. But my main concern is that UGAs reputation is just toast. Showing out like they have on the main stage is something that very much affects recruiting - no 5* wants to be on the team that chokes under the lights.

While I think this is certainly true to some extent, I think there are far more factors than this to consider before declaring UGA's name as mud with future recruits.
It's not as if Clemson came in and skullfricked us. We put up a reasonable fight, and on another night, things might have rolled our way. Also, just the fact that we're willing to put ourselves under the lights is another positive. Now, if we wet the bed against USC, we can revisit that statement.
And cheers to this post - all my favorite teams - UGA, Braves, and Manchester United all lost within a day of each other. Thank goodness the falcons didn't let me down this week

All I'm saying is, Sammy Dropkins gifted us on special teams, and we couldn't do a single damn thing about it!

It must be really exhausting being pissed off all the time like 90% of this board. Honestly what good does it do to constantly bitch and moan over things completely out of our control. It's not healthy to be this pissed off all the time.

That is not koolaid but PCP

Just because you get upset when you lose a game that should have been won doesn't mean that you're...
A lot of what happened was exactly what was being discussed in that other thread about CMR not being prepared for the beginning of the season and recently with big games. It is what it is.
My solution was to not schedule tough OCC games early in the season. Everyone gave me shite. What would you propose we do to avoid these early season losses? Or does it even matter?

I'd probably do the same. Schedule a tune up game before South Carolina. But it sounds like most on the board think this is the worst team since what '94? It was a 3 point loss to a really good time in an electric atmosphere on the road. We had chances to won but we shot ourselves in the foot. They played nearly a perfect game. We didnt. The season is not over and the sun did rise this morning.

Now, now my Firewind. The Clemson game did nothing to change my opinion of richie, the program and the admins. I am exactly where I was last year. I did not bemoan the Oline, defense, Murray or anything else, you will not find one negative comment about the game by me.
Now what I did say, was richie will not win the NC and the admins are perfectly fine with that. He is a good coach and better man, but the program is about where it is going to be. Which is fine, a winning season and a good to decent bowl.
While I do commend you for still aspiring for greater things, I have adjusted my expectations to match what the program stands to produce in view of the 12 years of richie's experience.
Now to put on my disney glasses, can we beat Carolina next Saturday? Sure, no Lattimore, at home, pissed at the Clemson game, D has one game under their belt, OLine cannot be really that bad, note we are favored by 4.5. And if we get by Carolina, can we beat Florida? Again, sure, their offense by all accounts is woeful. And if we win those two, we will probably be favored in all the others including LSU which TCU gave a pretty good tussle to.
So, there you have it, I have talked myself into the SEC championship game, where you know who awaits................

Yea I hope we come out pissed off on Saturday. Make a serious statement. I predicted we'd go 3-1 in the first 4. Hope we can finally pull one off on the ole ball coach
