Read this article about A&M in the Top 10 history and it flared up.

Every time we appear to be headed in the right direction in a preseason, BAM. Shitty year.

We're going to suck again this year. It ain't finna happen. Kill me. Battered Aggie Syndrome sucks.

It's not just RC that caused the collapses. Other A&M coaches have too. I have conspiracy theories, but I won't waste your time with those.

I just can't get over the BAS until we start beating some good teams this year. I will suffer in silence, I suppose.

Last three times we started the season in the top 10:

1995 - Loss to Colorado in Boulder, then in Lubbock, then the final SWC game on Kyle: 9-3

1999 - Loss to Tech in Lubbock on a phantom holding call, Bob Stoops' coming out party, shut out by Nebraska, then raped by Jerry Sandusky: 8-4

2011 - Year of the 2nd half collapse

This post made my BAS flare up again. We have a new kicker, right? Wait, what?!?

I think we experience something very similar

It's happened so many times:

2011: Mike Sherman's 2nd half failures, Volume 4
2007: Started season #20, ended season 7-5.
2005: Started season #17, ended season 5-6.
2002: See 2011 except substitute R.C. Slocum for Mike Sherman
1999: Started season #10, got as high as #7.
1995: Started season #5, got as high as #3.
1993: Greg Hill dropped the lateral: 11-1 instead of 12-0.
1992: Held Florida State to 10 points...still lost by 8.

The list goes on.

No BAS about SMU though. If they can't score on a shitty Red Raider defense, it will be UGLY on 9/21.

Meh, using some selective criteria. I don't get the BAS crap but maybe that is because I remember the '80s and early '90s. It seemed to start after the loss to CU at Boulder and then took hold after we lost to Texas that year (after winning 10 in 11).

This is a different team and a different attitude. Sumlin is closer to Jackie than any of the coaches we have had since, only he is going to be better.

New conference, new era man.

I think the Aggies will be alright. Especially now that the Johnny Manziel nonsense has been subdued.

That was my biggest concern for the Aggies going into the season.
