Ok me and my roommates got Comcast the other day on Saturday, it worked fine till yesterday and it would come on and play but then it would lose signal and display a EFO1 on the box, so today went and switched out the boxes the new one was working fine for about an hour but it just lost signal again and displayed EFO1.
Any ideas of what's wrong or how to fix it??

frick Comcast.
They once used me as a test subject guinea pig by delivering me the new Spectrum box before it was mass-released.....
Long story short.... The shite froze and emptied my DVR and did just about anything you can think of to piss you off for about four months..........until they worked all the bugs out.
But, I was still paying full price to be their guinea pig.
frick Comcast.
All you can do is pull the plug in back of the box and put it back in.....hoping it will reset properly. You're screwed and will most likely lose signal during the GA Clemson game. Apologies and condolences in advance.

I'd say your cable outlet currently doesn't have a strong enough signal to support your box. You're probably going to have to call Comcast and set up an appointment for a tech guy to come out and strengthen your cable signal. They will probably want to charge you an installation fee, which is more expensive, along with a maintenance fee so you'll probably have to tell Comcast that you do not need any type of installation set up since your box is already set so that they will waive the installation fee.
And if you had a tech guy install it in the first place then he either did not do his job strengthening your signal or your cable outlet/location of your house/apt is just shitty.
My SO had me come install her box with Comcast about a week ago and we had this same problem trying to get a good signal with the cable modem but a guy came out and they waived the installation fee for her.

You might be SOL if they do not have any time slots open for them to come out between now and Saturday but you could get lucky and have a spot Saturday morning/afternoon. So if I were you I would call asap.

Sounds like you aren't getting a good/consistent signal. Make sure you have a good/tight connection on both ends of the coax cable from the connection box on the side of the house to the cable box inside the house; a direct connection not going through splitters. If you still aren't getting a consistent signal, try connecting to a different connection on the splitter they have inside their box on the side of the house. If you still can't get a good connection then you or Comcast probably need to replace the splitter in the box on the side of the house or it could be a problem with the cable/connection coming from the telephone pole to the box on the side of the house.
