I love it when star athletes pick a school to ride the pine for most of their careers when they could have started from day 1 at many places.

You put in all that hard work at practice for some special team plays and mop up runs through the middle.

Some players care about winning championships and being coached by a great coaching staff. Running backs in the NFL only have a limited shelf life and the less abuse one takes in college the more carries he has for the NFL. You telling me Marcus Lattimore couldn't have split carries with another good back and still been just as valuable come draft time? Fowler is gone after this year. Yeldon is gone after next season. If these backs stick with the program many of them will get their chance to get plenty of carries to impress NFL scouts and help Bama without abusing their bodies for 3 or 4 years. The position has changed and none of them need to get 25 carries a game for 3 years for the NFL to know what they can do at the next level.
