I think it is hilarious that LSU fans in this thread have zero concern replacing all of those defensive starters, a lot of which were underclassmen. I expect the offense to be much better but I expect the defense to at least drop off a little. John Chavis is excellent but he is not Jesus Christ.

I am just replying to the OP. No they are not the 6th best in conference. They are the second best in conference. They are only second because we dont know how their young guys will perform.

Ole Miss fans and their lecturing in this thread about what it takes to win NC and what it takes to be succesful in the SEC are really hilarious. You havn't been relevant in over 50 years nationally. Will let you know when we need your advice on what it takes to be competitive in the SEC or BCS Title chase which of course will be never. Look I am happy for you, you've got a good young coach who is gonna have Ole Miss moving in the right direction, but lets not get ahead of ourselves or anything.

We grow great defensive players on trees, so I don't think the D will fall off.

Drop off from the '12 "D"?? No way. This year's defense will actually be better than last year.

LSU had SEVEN freshmen in the back seven, two deep rotation. I think there will be great improvement back there.

D-line starters are SEC quality.

Freak and Ego will be the best DT duo in conference.

Tigers only question on "D" is finding quality depth along the D-line.
