Rivals has "quick hit" notes from all three coaches.

Freeze basically says he was really happy with the scrimmage. Both offense and defense looked good and made plays. It went back and forth, which is what you want. He specifically praised Standifer (thank God) and Treadwell. Said Kailo is starting to pick everything up.

Chief is pushing Trae for the starting job. Wommack is worried about Elston and the new "targeting" rule. I think we all are. Haha. He said Trae needs not to become a "missile" out there. Beast.

Bobby Hill and Standifer look really good. Dehendret Collins looks good and Wommack wishes he would have played him at CB last year, too.

Everyone except Sanders, Mathers, and Golson will be ready to go in prepping for Vandy starting Tuesday.

Walton is leading for the #2 RB spot.

Evan Engram showed out and caught a HUGE 3rd down pass.

Christian Morgan will get a long, hard look as far as playing this year.

Werner said the offense looked really good today. All the quarerbacks protected the ball better and the team scored "a lot of touchdowns and caught a lot of balls". He said this time last year he had 5 or 6 OL that could play, and this year he has 8 or 9. Said that makes a huge difference because everyone's being pushed to play harder to keep their spot. Running back has the same situation.

Also, McCray had a family situation and didn't play today. Tunsil ran with the ones in his place.

Best possible outcome from today's scrimmage. I'm still a little worried about our CB position but it sounds like we are building a little depth there as far as guys who will be able to contribute once Sawyer and Golson are 100%.

I'm curious if Aaron Morris has lost any weight.

So assuming Sawyer and Golson are the starting CB's when healthy, who is #3, #4 and #5?

Is there an order between Hill, Collins, Burdette and Standifer?

It's weird hearing our coaches be so complimentary of our team. They're usually upset about something and not this excited/pleased about things. It sounds like the team is gelling and getting their shite in order especially on offense. If we play like the coaches have been saying we have, Vandy is in for some pain.

That's my thoughts. You almost never hear our coaches be complimentary.

It's still not like they're pumping sunshine, which I like. The fact that they seem pleased makes me excited.

I'm not sure if this is a formal order, but based on my observations at practice: #3 Collins, #4 Burdette (more physical) #5 Standifer #6 Hill. Hill could move up, but since he's a true freshman I think Standifer's experience gives him the edge.

I think Standifer will be more situational. He is a tall long CB who would do well in goal line situations.

I think Collins will be the most reliable. He is a decent backup, just doesn't need to start, like ever.

LINK here's a link to basically everything you were saying. As HJJ said, it's encouraging that our coaches are being so complimentary all of a sudden, normally they are our biggest critics (which is good).

quote:

Without getting into too many specifics Freeze had good things to say about wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, running back Kailo Moore and tight end Evan Engram. All three are freshmen, and all are expected to play a role this season, perhaps Treadwell the largest.

quote:

He is expected back for the fourth game of the season, Sept. 28 at Alabama. Most injured players who figure to be starters or in the mix to start – barring further setbacks – should be available when focus turns to Vanderbilt on Tuesday. That includes freshman defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, who participated in Saturday’s scrimmage, and junior end C.J. Johnson who did not. Junior cornerback Senquez Golson, a returning starter, remains out, while senior Charles Sawyer, the starter on the other side, has been back at practice for a couple of days.

I'll be feeling really good once CJ and Senquez are back, them sitting out this close to game time worries me.

Was it on here or on Rivals where I saw someone say they spoke to Senquez? Basically he said he's just being held out as a precaution and he could have been in for the past few days.

Sorry if it was someone on here and I just CBA to go find the post.

Hamstrings are not to be fricked with. A sore or pulled hammie should be rested 100% before playing on again, because if it's sore and tender and he goes out there practicing full speed right now, it will not get better until the end of the season.
