I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're not a parent.

So let's hypothetically modify the law so it's a little more relevant to you: what if the program were called the Firearm Wellness Visiting Program? Basically it would be a provision that allows for a government agent to make home visits to people that have registered firearms and are at high risk of firearm accidents. People at high risk would include people who drink, use prescription drugs, young people, old people, and non-military (less training), etc.

After all, not everyone is fit to own a gun.
