Hey, Michigan was pretty open about the fact that they regretted building their ceiling like that (as I recall, they had the first indoor practice facility in the entire country, so there weren't really any existing facilities to tour to generate ideas from). Since that time, most other schools have built their facilities with roofs like Michigan's. I guess that it's the cheaper option, but, like Michigan, the other schools will soon find out why going cheaper is not always the best route.

The location of the facility plays a part too. You would need a larger pitch on the roof at Michigan to shed snow during the winter than you would need in Arizona, for example.

The pitch would dictate how high the side wall would need to be to get the interior height to what you want.

Alabama has the largest indoor practice facility in the country, and it's connected to the nicest athletic training facility in the country

A&M spent more on their football only S&C facility than Bama spent on their all sports S&C facility.

Aggie non-football players getting a new facility built on west side of campus.

Aggies hardly ever use their indoor practice facility as Sumlin wants his players out in the heat.
