Just guessing, he's a new father so he may have missed some class/practice. We'd probably be lenient on something like that, but still have to play by the same rules.

That didn't have anything to do with the suspension, although he does have a kid. The kid lives in Ohio with the mom.

family type issues usually don't get you suspended if you get permission to deal with a family issue ahead of time. Cant be anything major if he said he could be back in a week

Nothing the staff hasn't dealt with before. If it happens again, I don't think Coach Saban will be feeling so gracious.
