Well it's going to come up anyway...

Clowney could be in trouble. No evidence though.
My main concern is that this asshat memorabilia collector probably tried to video Clowney as well. (Only if that happened I think JD would have probably noticed and threatened to rip the guy's head off with his bare hands)
The thing that makes me think Clowney didn't do it for money, is his character. Extremely respectful and responsible young man. So I guess we just have to play the waiting game.

Marquis Lee is in a similar situation and Southern Cal already said there wasn't a violation.
I wish Spurrier had sounded more confident when he said he didn't think Clowney just now on sportscenter but I doubt anything comes of it.
The broker has only said Manziel was paid so far. I'll start worrying if he says he paid other players as well

I would be more worried if any of this information was coming from, or even rumored to be coming from, the brokers. Right now it seems to be entirely generated by Aggie faithful hoping to muddy the water. They know, truly, that their guy is guilty as sin, so they are trying to make a case for everyone doing it in hopes that it goes away. If there were information coming from a broker about Clowney being paid for it, though, that's different.

Issue is the double edged sword. If an autograph vendor videos a transaction the only reasonable purpose served is to blackmail someone in the future. If this is the case then it can only become a downward spiral that takes others down as well.
Look at the point shaving scandal in the 50's that crippled the NIT. The NY schools were infiltrated first and then they used those kids to infiltrate the other schools across the country.

Been cleared by USC compliance. So I guess we are good.

Not the least bit worried about it.
Clowney doesn't lie - he says he has never accepted a dime for anything - we're gonna believe him.
These kids, and Wesley Saunders is an example of the opposite of Clowney, develop reputations among their coaches by their second or third year. The little stuff tells the tale.
Clowney has never lied - he's not lying now.
Johnny Douchebag is more like Saunders - he's lied so many times and done so many goofey things that he's spent all the credits in his basket.
If the NCAA were to even try to come down on Clowney - it would sound the deathknell of the NCAA. They don't want to go there. Clowney has added nothing but class to the school, to the conference and to the NCAA. He's shown everyone how it is done when you are considered the premier player in a given year. Lay low, stay off of twitter, do what is asked of you, be polite and play football.

You don't really believe that, do you? He's not a saint. Everyone lies.
