Anytime I ask my dad, who is a State fan, he just says "Better than Nkemdiche" and he won't give me a straight answer.

I've attended the open practices we've had so far, and he's only been working with the 3/4th string so far, but Jones is a monster. Completely manhandled everyone he went against today. At the very least he's miles ahead of our 3rd stringers.

Will he be bumped up soon?

I've heard both Coach Turner and Coach Collins call him a "freak." Coach Collins also said that he is at 310 lbs and "can run like a deer."

None of the offensive guys on his string can block him, so I don't see why he wouldn't. I wouldn't be surprised if they wait until public practices close to move him up, but he'll move up. Definitely won't redshirt. Provided he doesn't move to DT or do something weird he should be 2nd string or better. Autry's the only other guy we have strongside who I'd consider on the same footing. I'm no coach, but the kid could probably start if he continued balling out like he did when I watched him.

That's what I assumed. I saw that PJ was starting at DT. Why not Quay?

What's Quay been doing? I haven't heard anything on him.

Hell if I know. He's looked good(though in my opinion not as good as Jones) and has been rotating what string he's in. I'm not quite sure what's going on with him.

As far I know today was last open practice. Chris was moved up to 2nd string. Did well on one on one but struggled a bit when put against a tackle and a TE.

Other practice notes:

Tyler looks to be throwing a bit quicker
Perk has improved in blocking, and looks a bit quicker
Josh Robinson has lost some pudge. Looks 10-15 pounds lighter and a lot quicker
Shump had a bunch of 10/20+ yard runs on team, and got some reps with 2nd team
Jameon is money
RoJo is a lot more consistent
Wilson has a lot of potential, but struggles to be consistent
BJ Hammond is not the most athletic guy, but dang he has some nice hands
I think Fred Ross is hurt
Shelby Christy was in a red jersey today
Claybourne was an awesome pick. Went even with Nick James on 1 on 1 blocking, then beat his @$$ next play. He'll backup Gabe.
Dez Harris needs to gain weight
Freshman Secondary don't look notable negative or positively
