History of Kyle Field

1929 (original horseshoe - Kyle was first used in 1905, but didn't get a completed horseshoe built around the track til 29. Capacity around 33k)

1941 (you can see the old Kyle Baseball Field backed up to it. Olsen didn't open across the tracks til 78. Deware Fieldhouse was our original gym and it sits just north of the horseshoe. Sort of faint but kinda looks like a church)

1967 (with 2nd decks, capacity reaches 48k. Deware is just about the T in Texas Aggie. Our 2nd gym, G Rollie White, is the large flat building in the upper right corner attached to Kyle by the parking lot)

1996ish (guessing on year but Deware is torn down and the Zone isn't there so gotta be 96-97. They added the 3rd deck in 1978. The building to the left of the jumbotron is Netum Steed which will be scrapped. The angled tennis courts in the middle is where the Bright Complex is today. Between Kyle and G Rollie is the Read Building (pronounced REED). I'm not sure when it was built but it is also being torn down. I had a class there but for the life of me I can't remember what it was)

2001 (the North End Zone "The Zone" was built in 1998. This shot just makes it easier to see the levels but this is the first game post-9/11. This is how Kyle exists today. You can see we already had temp bleachers up in the South End Zone at that point)

2011ish (An overview of the current state of things minus the Davis Center which was built in 2012. The Bright Complex is there and the McFerrin Center (indoor facility) is to the lower left)
