I tried to find an old topic but we really do meander a lot Figured I'd make a master thread

Kyle construction is officially under way.
View of Student (East) Side - the press box is going above the 3rd deck and you can see they are adding suites in between the 1st/2nd decks. Only the 1st deck on the student side will be rebuilt
Student Side from slightly different angle
Student Side from new South End Zone
View of Alumni (West) Side - the box in the middle on the edge of the 3rd deck I believe are the broadcast booths (tv and radio). The tv cameras should be slightly lower as I think they are being built along the different rows of suites. This should make it easier to have better quality broadcasts and multiple camera angles. I believe they are using NFL standards.

And again on North Side - anyone know what that statue is supposed to be?

History of Kyle Field
1929 (original horseshoe - Kyle was first used in 1905, but didn't get a completed horseshoe built around the track til 29. Capacity around 33k)
1941 (you can see the old Kyle Baseball Field backed up to it. Olsen didn't open across the tracks til 78. Deware Fieldhouse was our original gym and it sits just north of the horseshoe. Sort of faint but kinda looks like a church)
1967 (with 2nd decks, capacity reaches 48k. Deware is just about the T in Texas Aggie. Our 2nd gym, G Rollie White, is the large flat building in the upper right corner attached to Kyle by the parking lot)
1996ish (guessing on year but Deware is torn down and the Zone isn't there so gotta be 96-97. They added the 3rd deck in 1978. The building to the left of the jumbotron is Netum Steed which will be scrapped. The angled tennis courts in the middle is where the Bright Complex is today. Between Kyle and G Rollie is the Read Building (pronounced REED). I'm not sure when it was built but it is also being torn down. I had a class there but for the life of me I can't remember what it was)
2001 (the North End Zone "The Zone" was built in 1998. This shot just makes it easier to see the levels but this is the first game post-9/11. This is how Kyle exists today. You can see we already had temp bleachers up in the South End Zone at that point)
2011ish (An overview of the current state of things minus the Davis Center which was built in 2012. The Bright Complex is there and the McFerrin Center (indoor facility) is to the lower left)

some older renderings of the Bright Complex as well as current view to give a feel for how it's all coming together
current pic of Bright as is
slightly different angle showing relation to McFerrin indoor facility
Davis center (weight room) - opposite McFerrin
Current view from Kyle
new entry into the football complex. Believe this is what Sherman donated $1m for
Lohman Center (Bright Lobby) architectural rendering
future Bright Lobby

RC Slocum Nutrition Center
I'm actually pretty confused about how this is going to fit into the new plans. It looks to be backed up to the jumbotron but looking at the renderings above of the south end zone, I'm not really sure where it fits in. I don't believe there is a row of suites there so I can only guess it is going to be sunk into the concourse between the 1st and 2nd decks.
and a couple of the actual construction shots of the Nutrition Center from Coach Price

Everything looks pretty great, except for the saw em off statue. Is that actually going to happen? I don't know what the final product will look like, but if it resembles that mock up it will look lame as hell. I like the actual statues of former players, but a statue of a bunch of nobody's looks dumb IMO.

agreed. It seems goofy and hardly high art that anyone outside of Ags would even get. It just seems really.....odd
I'm not sure I like any of the new statues though. Obviously the E King Gill one is cool but that's just replacing the current one. But wtf is that statue on the North Side? And along the West Side there is a row of statues. Who's the chick? They seem forced. At least move the JDC one from Bright or something that makes sense

oh and if they don't make a statue out of this then they seriously fricked up imo
Posted on 8/3/13 at 9:50 pm to tmc94
Agreed. And thanks for posting all these renderings in one thread, tmc!

Whoa whoa whoa...there's a statue of a chick? Wtf is she doing and who is she? Surely there has never been an important enough female aggie that belongs outside of Kyle.

Yeah the wag statue was random as hell

This is a shot of the West Side (McFerrin in the background). I've asked like 10 people who that is and no one seems to have the first clue. There are other statues here but I have no idea who/what they are. There's no clear shot in any of the renderings.

I kept looking for what things were and realized we have nothing consolidated. Btw, the 12th man foundation needs to get a better web developer. They make it incredibly hard to look at pics and share them on virtually all their sites which seems to defeat the purpose a bit.

Agreed. PITA to do anything with their photos.

Holy hell I hope that doesn't go up. Are these statues for sure a done deal, or are they just ideas of what might go up?
Posted on 8/4/13 at 7:51 pm to betweenthebara
I think the only ones that are a done deal is the saw em off and larger E. King Gill statue. They were accepting applications from students to model for the saw em off statue a couple weeks ago, and I just really hope it never gets made.

Could not agree with you more. It will just be more ammo for ag bashing.

lol get over your battered Ag syndrome.
if you are worried about somebody making fun of a statue you have serious insecurity issues.

Looks like 2015 seating chart is updating now. If you follow this link, then select seat map, you can hover over different areas and see the % still available. Not exactly sure how things like the West Field Box is already at 50%. My understanding is today was solely Endowed Donors and half of them are suing
