You would think so but the NCAA defines a recruited athlete as one who takes an official visit or is visited by coaches off campus IIRC
If a kid is committed, he was recruited.

I'm guessing it has escaped most that kids that go onto the Bryant scholarship that are athletes can't compete until their third year on campus.
