Fans of Other Teams who want access...

I realize this has been discussed before, but as we're coming up on football season, I thought we should revisit the topic. i would like to see this board become more active, and have more people engaging in discussion. It seems as though most of us seem to agree with adding posters from other fanbases as long as they behave and don't troll over here. If they want to participate in legitimate discussion about Mizzou, we seem to approve. Am I reading this correctly? Obviously, we will refuse posters who like to troll and flame away. And if they misbehave here, we will boot them. Right now I have two requests.
The first is TReyWI, a Bama poster with some Missouri ties. He is not a flamer, and has a real interest in Mizzou; he thinks we were a great addition.
The second is WarTiger2004, an Auburn fan. He was drafted to Missouri in last year's Auburn fan draft, and likes us a lot.
I'm in favor of granting access to both. Your thoughts?

The only posters I don't care for is Porker Face and that TAMU poster...Roger Klavern or whatever his name is. Some of the Ole Miss posters are also pretty bad.

They would never be granted access, their posting history shows why.

Many Arky posters are terrible, Ole Miss is equally as bad, Kentucky sucks, USCe sucks, UF sucks, MS State sucks, Tennesee sucks, Auburn isn't very good. I say no posters from those schools.
Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Vandy, and aTm are cool in my book

Semo I think other than the clear mizzou haters, such as porker, dale Denton, etc. I'm honestly not opposed to just letting people in who want in and if they blow it we can boot them. Having said that, Im glad you've become out admin!!

Thank you!!! I'll do my best.

I vote no to all. No more until we see how things shake out this year with the new additions we already have. How many Mizzou posters are allowed on other boards? Prob not many...
Its quiet but things will pick up during the fall/winter again.

First, I'm in favor of granting those 2 access.
Second, outside of the brutal ones like Porker and Klarvin, I'd support giving anyone a chance. I think the ones that have been given access so far have added in a positive way from time to time. As long as you can ban them semo (maybe after a vote or something so as not to put it all on you), then I'm for giving almost anyone a chance.
Third, I think Stonehog, Ultimatehog and Sultan of Swine had asked previously. Just throwing it out there.

I have a hard time basing it on the school, as opposed to the individual poster. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think they'll dominate our board and if they do, we can address it then. Cheshire, Tbird, dallas and some others chime in only from time to time and it's usually just providing information, not much more. I know dallas gave some good insight into Printz even before he committed. Same with Cheshire here recently on Williams.
I know Arky really keeps their board locked down, but I think I'd rather be welcoming unless and until they give us reason to kick them to the curb.

I know I said to shut the door before, but I know TRey and he is cool as frick. Him and the Auburn poster are good. If you want to add StoneHog then he is invited too. But after that we really should close the door.

Semo, do we need to clean it up with actual official votes on these specific people then maybe? Instead of just general feelings overall? Maybe leave the voting open for a week or 5 days or something to give everyone a chance to see that there is a vote up and to cast a vote? Maybe a separate thread to catch people's attention? Just thoughts. If so, I vote:
1. TRey: Yes
2. War: Yes
3. Stone: Yes
ETA - I don't mean to sound so damn anal but maybe to grant access it should need 2/3 of votes cast in favor? I don't think it's worth upsetting us Mizzou posters if its as close as 51/49.

Reedus, I would agree.
And if this makes everyone more comfortable, I will be able to put a quick stop to anything objectionable. That won't happen on our board. I think that's part of the reasoning in having board admins - to get the team boards active, but without some of the flaming that goes on on the rant. If we allow in posters from other schools, and they violate that guideline, they'll lose privileges It's that simple.
But frankly, our board is pretty quiet. And, especially as a new member to the SEC, it's my opinion that the more we can interact with the other fan bases, the better. It will help them learn more about us, and having that input on our board can give us insight into other schools and their issues away from the craziness of the rant. And honestly, any fans of other schools are not likely to post often on our page.
As has been pointed out, I'm a diplomatic type. I am opposed to opening the board completely, but as long as we can control who get access, I don't see a problem with allowing in good posters from other fan bases.

I'm fine with adding posters who are worth adding, but I don't think we should add people just for the sake of it, even if they're not bad posters. I think we should only add posters who add something to the discussion and aren't just average.

KCMO, I agree with you. I think the ones that requested access have done so because they have an interest in Mizzou, and would add something positive. They're not just asking for access for the heck of it.

Agreed. I trust your judgement

And if they don't? Is there some sort of punishment that can be dished out to poor admin'ing?
