Lets look at things half empty...

People seem to forget that we had two potential starters on the OL to have surgery just 3 months ago in Morris and Junen.
Morris is our top OL and as of June 17th, has not lifted with the team since surgery. My slam piece lives next to Conyers gf is where I got that tidbit of info. He is fully healthy now, but has missed a lot of time and we cant expect him to make that natural sophomore to junior progression. He is also up to 360lbs according to the updated rosters.
Junen has a toe injury so he's been able to lift frequently, just not run. He's an extremely large OL who's weakness is conditioning and quickness on pulls. He is our strongest OL, gives great effort, but Im not sure he will be where we need him to be by Vandy. I expect Justin Bell to start vs Vandy and he has been a very consistent, solid OL, but just like Junen, he isnt the best pull guy.
CJ has all the tools to be an elite DE in the SEC and on passing downs, he's there. But he wasnt a complete DE last year due to his lack of size and strength. How much bigger and stronger does he get when he misses at the very least, half the off season program. According to the new roster, he is at 230lbs, and I dont expect him to play any bigger than he did last year. I do expect him to make that progression and have a better year this year, but I really dont see him making a big impact against Vandy.
I really think that all three of these players will be very good for us by the end of the season, but as important as the Vandy game is, I see those positions being areas of weaknesses for us. If we can overcome these injuries and pull out this game we will be in excellent shape for the rest of the season.
On a positive note, I fully expect that Bo will be better than he was last year from day one and the Mike Marry will be playing his first injury free football in two years.

I still think we crush vandy but great thoughts Channing and Robert will be able to help out at DE and I have faith that freeze will find a way with the OL although you brought up some great points I'm more concerned with the OL.

shite sorry for the triple post I'm on the beach and it wouldn't load so I kept pressing send

Yeah, what does that mean? Kentrell was long and lanky but at least was in the 250lb range.

Lots of great points... But Matt Luke turned chicken shite into chicken salad as far as Oline play was concerned... They had some horrendous stretches early on but they did improve as the season went on... That's what I'm looking for this season... Position by position... Drive after drive... Improvement and the ability to maintain focus and avoid those disaster plays that cost us a 9 win season... That, and Tunsil to be starting at tackle by the TX game.

I wasn't sure if that had to do with the injury bug kentrell had and didn't exactly develop like we thought he was going to

Coach Jackson said, "Austin Golson is an absolute monster, just attacking, competing and working hard every day." That's encouraging. Absolute monsterism is one of the best qualities an offensive lineman can have.

Wow bro, you were all about some flippage weren't you? Time to update your profile my Bear cousin ;)

I remember how depressed I was when we lost Brandon Hill to Bama last year in December... Getting Golson on NSD was such a huge upgrade... If Nutt hadnt left our depth chart in such disarray we could've redshirted him but there's just no way we can... He and Tunsil are gonna be our starting OTs this Spring while they're still freshmen... Hopefully one of them will still be here in the fall of 2016 for their senior season but if both are gone it wouldnt surprsie me at all.

I saw him at GameStop at the midnight release of NCAA Football. He's a very well spoken and seemingly intelligent individual. But I agree, he needs to beef up a little. Then again, Freeze likes to have linemen a little on the lean side.

I'm actually glad to hear that. I saw a pic of him in April and he looked overweight.

When I saw him I was a little surprised at how lean he was too because when I saw him on ESPN on NSD he looked bigger.

Very insightful and thought out. Although a lot of the things you mentioned were blown slightly out of proportion.
I fully agree. He's a legit QB, but he could be a couple compounded, solid hits away from having a season ending shoulder re-injury. I hope the kid is healthy; I never wish an injury upon a player of an opposing team.
