Honestly,

Who has the bigger pool of kids to choose from and who has more national appeal? I know this will butthurt some of the Arky fans, but I have to go with Tennessee.

*Arky and Tennessee are about equal when it comes to in-state talent.

*Tennessee's facilities are nicer (although they went broke doing it)

*Tennessee's national appeal is bigger. Cali and FL kids routinely consider UT when they're up. (Arky fans: don't even bring up Collins. He was set to play under Bielema in WI and he committed to a coach, not a school. There isn't anywhere near the FL pipeline to Arky as there is to UT.)

*Arky has TX, but right now they're behind UT, TAMU, TCU, BAYLOR, OU, and LSU in the Texas pecking order IMO, as all of those schools have done better in TX than Arky has.

Overall, I'd say UT has a bigger pool to recruit from and nicer facilities, thus the better chance for success for a coach. USCe is taking a lot of 3* and 4* GA kids like UT used to in the 90s. If UT can get that turned around and use their national recruiting in CA, FL, VA, and OH, then it's a pretty good job.

I guess the better question is this: If saban coached Arky for 5 years and UT for 5 years, who would have better results?

Easily Tennessee. They just need a coach.

It's such a good job because of Kiffin and Dooley obviously. I mean just look at the success they had with all the built in advantages of Tennessee.

Great fricking examples. Dooley couldn't even have a winning record at LA Tech adn Kiffin has somehow managed to frick up the best talent rich job in the country with heisman talent at QB and WR.

honestly, what does Arky have that Tenn doesn't?

UT. No comparison whatsoever. Neither have a strong in state recruiting base, but UT at least has NC, SC, GA, and AL close by as well as a fairly strong national presence. Dallas is over 5 hours from Fayetteville and all those kids go to OU or Texas.

Arkansas' national presence is greater than Tennessee's right now and it's not even close.

Ehhh....I don't know about that. If you're counting Memphis as Tennessee, then yes, but Memphis belongs to Ole Miss, Bama, and Arky just as much as it does UT.

So the frick what? It doesn't change the fact that you guys are so far from talent it makes it difficult to ever be a national champ or even an SEC champ.

UT has Memphis. Plain and simple. Ark has nothing that can compete with this.

They are pretty much a tie in the area of cornbread and butter bean fed hob goblin honkeys up front. Its the speed and skill guys that UT has the instate advantage on.

With that said, UT is behind just about every quality team in the conference in instate talent across the board. They relied on recruiting nationally the years they they were really good and they did that by making bowl games every where when making a bowl game meant something. Now they can't rely on that to get them the big national stars anymore and their lack of instate talent is catching up with them.

Don't get me wrong, they still have decent talent when comparing them to most schools nationally, but they fall behind the bigger schools in the SEC.
