Is it just me or does it seem past due? He's been their top ranked QB for a while, and got MVP at RIVALS 5 Star Camp? How else do you get it?

No idea how Rivals allows Ketch to rank players in Texas.

Kyle Allen is from Arizona. His rivals camp was in Chicago. I doubt it's the Texas rivals guys holding him back?

The next round of evaluations could be good for the program as the Rivals.com's team of analysts will be discussing moving Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain quarterback Kyle Allen to a five-star -- if not the top quarterback in the country -- based on his performance at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by Under Armour.

I don't know who does the rankings in Arizona or Illinois, but the fact that someone like Ketch has any influence on the rankings anywhere makes suspect of the whole system.

All reports from Elite 11 are he's on a different level from the other 17 QB's. his accuracy is beyond his years, and that's the most important skill in our offense, and also translates the best to every level.

I'm pretty excited about this kid.

Does he play as a true freshman next year?

Assuming Manziel goes pro, Matt Davis would be a RS Sophomore and Kenny Hill a RS Freshman.

Am I the only one that's not impressed with Matt Davis?

I think Matt Davis needs to be on the field now, just not at QB. I wish he'd prove me wrong.

Yeah I was really expecting big things from him 2 years ago.

I know that the Tannehill situation was born out of necessity, but Matt Davis is too good of an athlete not to be playing somewhere, anywhere.

I think he surprises y'all at QB. His mobility and arm strength at that position makes him something I am excited to see once Manziel leaves. He was what? The third or fourth best dual threat QB in the nation for his recruiting class? This offensive seems designed for him if he gets his quick read timing down. The guy also has an x factor I love. I am excited to see how he does in garbage time this year.

I agree, I think he will surprise people in the QB race next year. He has a lot of the same skills and intangibles Manziel had that the staff seemed to favor over Showers even when it appeared Showers was the front runner. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Davis was our starting QB next season

I'll be surprised if he's not.

based off of what? he looked better than joeckel from what I saw in the spring game, I think he's doing just fine and we may see him this year in mop up duty.

247 redid rankings today. It's still moving around but Allen is their new #1 overall QB and a 5-star. Probably going to be ranked as about the #20 overall prospect by 247
