Shocked because Miami is a better school than ATM and they couldn't get him in. So all of the sudden he can qualify at Miami? Something isn't adding up.

does miami not use the minimum NCAA requirements, like most schools do? It doesn't take a brain surgeon to play d1 football... a decent ACT score and summer school can get almost anyone qualified.
Like I said above, if something doesn't add up, teams will call Miami/Griffin out on it... it happens every year.

Miami is a private school which grants them certain loopholes not available to public institutions. Just because they have the same minimum NCAA entrance requirements as most schools doesn't mean the situations are equivalent.
One reason they were so good in the 80s and 90s was because they got a lot of guys in that FSU and Florida couldn't.
