8 or 9 game schedule, the SEC Champion is basically a lock to get one of the 4 playoff spots starting in the 2014 season.

It would take an exceptionally bizarre year for the SEC Champion not to make the playoff, 8 games or 9 games.

Yep. And if we are to believe what they tell us when they say SOS will be heavily weighted, then an extra loss won't hurt us. 9 games = tougher schedule. The team will be rewarded, the fans will be rewarded with better matchups, and the conference will be rewarded with more teams having a chance at the playoff.

I agree with others who say that Slive is sitting back and waiting to see if what the Playoff sellers are selling. You can SAY you will take tougher schedules into consideration all day long, but how will you actually implement it.

Slive is probably right in doing so. In the meantime, transitional schedules shouldn't be micromanaged like they have been.

9 games is worse than the 6-1-1 because of the 4-5 home/away switch. Specifical because some teams have neutral site games while others don't. It would even out over time but no doubt bama would get 5 games first and LSU fans( self loathing LSU fan here) would bitch.

I wish they would drop the 6-1-1 for 6-2 or make conferences 16 teams and go to 10 game maga schedule. I enjoy the Florida/LSU game and UGA/AU but i couldnt care les about Bama/UT.
