Chuck and Chernoff covered this earlier pretty well IMO. It's not a matter of whether he should be punished anymore. That ship sailed. UGA can't go back and say... "You know what. Maybe we'll get rid of the first offense suspension." Even though it would only bring them closer to the pack (and yet still ahead of UF among others.) The mistake was enacting a penalty that will never be universally enforced across the conference (or the NCAA). Most schools that have the same 50% of the season penalty for second offenses have the luxury of never putting the first offense out there publicly unless the kid screws up again. Giving the coaches the chance to take care of it in-house first is more powerful IMO. I just don't see the kids really afraid of the one game suspension.

I do worry that it could come back to bite us in recruiting at some point. I would like to see it taken more seriously by the SEC/NCAA. I just don't think it's likely that they will be willing to do anything... particularly with legalization as a potential trend in those hippie states.

Dont listen to them and learn to read yourself. This was NOT a failed drug test. This was NOT an arrest. This was Richt doing his normal thing. There is no policy for this. richt just Richting.
