Last NC loss was 1973 Sugar Bowl against ND

Then why does Bama claim that one?

Why does Tennessee claims some of theirs, especially the ones with a bowl loss?

UT's 1940 team was 10-1 and lost the Sugar Bowl to Boston College who finished 11-0. Minnesota won the AP. But Tennessee claims it.

1967 Tennessee was 9-2 and lost the Orange Bowl to Oklahoma who went 10-1 that year. UT was awarded by Litkenhous but finished the season ranked 3 and 4 in the AP and UPI. UT claims the national championship.

At least Bama was awarded the NC by UPI. It was the way it was done then.

The fact of the matter is, Bama doesn't use any method of claiming titles that are any different from Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio St., USC (and even Tennessee) or any of the other powers. They all use the major selectors of their day to claim championships. Tennessee uses the same selectors as Bama has to claim titles, yet Bama gets hammered on this. Only Oklahoma uses major poll titles to claim titles.

No one can question Major Poll titles (AP, UPI/Coaches) and Bama has more of those (10) than anyone.
