The funny part is if you stay beyond your freshman...well, I'll go sophomore year with Cal at Kentucky, you are pretty much mediocre to suck these days.
Liggins, Lamb, Jones, and Miller are all on NBA rosters. The only one I know of who isn't is Harrelson and it's pretty much a miracle he made one to begin with (he's at the very least overseas now).
As far as the development comments, having watched some of those guys early in the season vs. late in the season I'd have to respectfully disagree. At the very least they come out much better defensively then they were running around on the AAU circuit. And a guy like Ben Howland later in his tenure at UCLA is a good example of what can go wrong with top players if you don't have the ability to manage them. And if you've ever seen a practice with Cal you'd know he's not just rolling the balls out either.
ETA: Now of course Wiggins could go to a small school and still be the #1 pick. He would if he was coming out of high school too because we all know the NBA drafts for potential. That's not a testament against Cal as much as how high Wiggins ceiling is. That said, Cal also helps kids be mentally ready for the NBA, just look up the work he did with MKG.

Liggins was a Gillispie recruit
Lamb only stayed to sophomore year
Jones only stayed to sophomore year
Miller was a Gillispie recruit
So my point still stands. I said "these days" and if you're a junior/senior under Calipari (and recruited by him), you are pretty much mediocre to suck while continuing to get beat out by the 1 and 2 and dones that are vaulting through the program now.
Check out Kentucky's juniors and seniors last season...
Jon Hood
Jarrod Polson
Twany Beckham
Julius Mays
...hmm, yeah...

I think the kids get much better not through coaching in less than a year than they do by simply playing much better competition and adjusting to that. I find it very hard to believe actual fundamental development by coaching takes place in less than 1 year with a 1 and done. They may pick up a thing or two, but not enough to call it any sort of "development". It truly takes at least 2 possibly 3 years to "develop" a kid from high school.
