He saw LSU as a stepping stone to the NFL- now that he realizes he can't succeed at that level he has devoted his full attention to coaching

That's how most coaches see LSU except someone like a Les Miles.

I think he's devoted his full attention to "managing" his program. He is heavily involved in the administration and operation of his program.

He hires solid coaches that are taught how to do things Saban's way. Those coaches do their fricking jobs. They evaluate, teach, train, and develop the talent that they ALL bring into the program.

Saban is OCD, a micromanager that thrives on his processes, systems, plans, blueprints, etc. to get the most out of his staff and players.
