Wow, I do not like the idea of ESPN owning the entire thing. We need to be capitalists/managers, not labor/hired help.
I also don't care for the HQ in Charlotte. That isn't even in our footprint. I gotta think that Atlanta and possibly Nashville would have had the resources for that and we would have been keeping some economic output in an SEC state.

I respectfully disagree with regards to ESPN. In the TV business world (especially in televised college football), you want ESPN to be on your side full force. They have Phenominal Cosmic Power in the media. You need to look past their issues in content and look at it from a business standpoint. With the SEC Network utilizing the full power of ESPN, whereas BTN has only Fox and the Pac 12 have only themselves, that puts the SEC in a much better position.
Case in point...I live in New Orleans. I get Bevo TV. I do not get BTN. Neither network has a natural market here. The only reason is that Bevo TV is an ESPN Network. Plus, if eventually the larger schools (Alabama, Florida, LSU, A&M, etc) want to go the Bevo TV route, having this already healthy relationship with ESPN will help that. (yes I know that there are no plans for this, but maybe 10-15 years down the road)
