I read 2 1/2 pages. fricking pussies is what our fans are who bitch about the schedule. I don't give a frick if Bama has an easier schedule. Win the fricking games.

Personally I love playing Florida every year. But if you don't see the legitimacy of the complaint that right now the schedule set up gives Alabama an advantage in winning the West then you are blind or delusional. There is no doubt that Bama has an easier road getting to the SEC title game than LSU.

I don't. I like that LSU plays Florida annually.

I agree w/ you about the "permanent" East opponents, so I guess that means I disagree w/ Coach Miles. Ala. has traditionally played UT "the 3rd week of October" -- this is a known rivalry, and, UT hasn't always sucked as they do now (and have for several yrs.)

On the other hand .... let's look at LSU playing So. Car. in '12, and UGA in '13, while Ala. plays ... Mizzou and KY.

When you're talking about a razor thin difference b/w programs, where one game matters, the difference b/w playing a UK, and a UGA, is huge.

THAT's the problem.

I'm not going to read the whole thread and it's probably way off topic now and/or has degenerated into a flame fest like every other thread on the SECRB.

The issue isn't about us having to play Florida every year - anyone trying to make that into the issue is focused on the wrong topic. I like playing Florida every year, it's always a great matchup. I don't even mind the permanent matchups. Where it gets fricked up is the arbitrary process of making "bridge" schedules in lieu of a a pragmatic, logical schedule making process. Some teams appear to be getting preferential treatment as to their schedules, giving them a much easier path to SEC and national championships. Even if its innocent or accidental, there shouldn't even be a hint of impropriety. Creating a schedule shouldn't generate any questions of fairness, because the process should be formulaic and inherently fair. But that's not how it is at the moment. It's not about UF-LSU.

Let's see.
2012 Bama plays Tennessee and Mizzou while LSU plays UF and USCe, (two patsy's vs two Top 10 teams.
2013 Bama plays Tennessee and Kentucky (two dogs) while LSU plays UF and UGa (two top 10 teams)

That's fair.. A cakewalk schedule gifted to the Crimson Turd while LSU gets hosed.

There is nothing special about Bama v Tenn or Auburn v UGa.

UF likes playing LSU because of recruiting.

lsu-uf is one of the best games of the year (at least usually) and is one of my favorite matchups. i hope we play them every year.

now it does suck to play them and uga in the same year when your main threat to your division/conference/national hopes is playing fricking kentucky and tennessee but what can you do

I like the Florida game, I look forward to it every year. I think more people complain about other teams having permanent opponents that are consistently terrible, ala Tennessee. I wouldn't mind seeing Alabama have to play SC and UF or UGA all in one season... Which won't happen.

LSU fans have an inferiority complex that UF fans don't.
