Obviously the on-field performance is implied in the definition. That's because shitty players never demand the attention Johnny does. He gets the attention because he's good--because he won the Heisman. This turns on my original point: A returning Heisman winner is the most significant player in college football unless shown otherwise.

You know that Tebow represents an outlier. No one has ever received the ink he does while being as bad as he's been. The guy's a polarizing figure, and the origin of the country's interest stems from his days at Florida, when he was good.

But there's no doubt Tebow was the most significant college football player during his time at Florida.

LSU fans are just jealous because the best quarterback they've had recently was Jordan Jefferson, who he led them to an embarrassing 21-0 loss for millions to watch...and because the face of their program eats grass and wears Velcro shoes.
