Cue the Stephen Bench Speculation (Chooses USF)

I hate to even bring it up because I know our entire fan base will expect him to be on campus within a week, but it looks as if he has decided to transfer from Penn. State. We were on him a good bit late in the recruiting process, so this may be one that we are a legitimate player with. I guess time will tell.

We were def in his top 3. I was surprised that he choose PSU amid all the craziness they had going on

Dual Threat. Plus we are low on QBs. Yes please. His only big offers were us and Penn State iirc. Several schools like Rice etc though.

I love how quickly he seems to made reads. Would def take to fill the gap that "skinny jeans" (That's Schussler, right?) left.

Worth noting that I'm pretty sure he's immediately eligible as well given the nature of the Penn St stuff...
Would be tremendous to have enough able-bodied backup QBs that our team defense could be full go in practice defending different things instead of having to be so delicate with the QBs all the time..

Paul says we are in the mix as well as USF and NC State. Take that fwiw

If Cord goes MLB we take him, if not we have Cord and he has far more upside than Bench.

Agree w Bundy. Looks too much like TR. Found this while he was at PSU. PSU I would take him for depth but Cord's the man if we can get him.

I agreed 100% with you until I just checked the dates. Still think I agree with you -- but it isn't as clear cut as I expected it to be...
Bench intends to stay in school and finish the semester up there, which ends in early May.
First day of summer classes at MSU(when I presume most of the players report) is June 6th -- consequently the same exact day as the first round of the MLB draft.

First, he was playing in the 2nd Quarter in that clip. Second, the kid was actually moving and is a legitimate dual-threat guy; therefore, he looked absolutely nothing like TR.

I would hold off on any excitement until he at least visits.
