God I fricking hate the reveille.

It's spring football and this is what you're asking the team?

Blue needs to stop giving Bama bulletin board material.

USA Today has picked up the story now.

They compare Blue to the 49ers Chris Culliver (as the orginial article from the Reveille does).

quote:

Blue's statement echoes one made by San Francisco 49ers safety Chris Culliver, who said at this season's Super Bowl Media Day that he doesn't "do the gay guys, man. I don't do that."

They go on to say:
quote:

By and large, however, LSU players quoted in The Daily Reveille, as well as LSU coach Les Miles, seemed willing to leave their personal beliefs outside the locker room and accept a gay teammate. (The Daily Reveille does note that LSU's athletic department "would not allow players to be asked questions on the topic before they were properly prepped for the interview.")

I love how USA Today closes the article:
quote:

In a way, Turner makes the most accepting statement possible. "Being gay won't do nothing for you," Turner said.

"If I knew I was lining up in front of somebody that was gay, I'm going to pancake him and sit on him just like I would on anybody else."

the possibility still remains that a player may come out in the future and LSU coach Les Miles and his team will have to respond.

why dafuq do they have to respond? is being gay a crime? gays don't need to "come out" anymore and those that do so are looking for attention and validation.
