Thing is, A&M was much better prepared to do without him last year than we are this year. Showers would have been a good QB, so other than Bama and LSU (and LaTech due to the point explosion they put up), I do think we would have had a good chance in all those games.
Now that Showers has transferred, and with another redshirt freshman looking like our best backup, JFF is even MORE a critical piece than last year.

Also, remember that Johnny didn't beat OU by himself. We held them to 13 points. I think it's not a stretch of the imagination to say that Showers could have led us to 2-3 touchdowns in that game. Enough to win, at least.
