I doubt it right now. If we're going to drop a weekend series against a team like Auburn then I don't have much faith we could beat Tennessee or Bama. We've still got Arkansas and LSU and we'll be lucky not to get swept in those the way things have been going. This team is in a serious free fall that doesn't show any signs of letting up.

I figured we'd at least make the field of 64. I didn't know the hitting would be this bad.

honestly, we have a decent enough RPI and our schedule down the stretch is favorable to making a run. This team hasn't done much but on the other hand, the first half of this season's schedule has been brutal. The loss @Sam is hardly a killer. That's a club that has a 41 RPI and has a lot of midweek scalps (1-0 vs Texas, 2-0 vs Rice, 1-1 vs Baylor, 1-1 vs A&M, 1-1 vs UH). They are a tough midweek game this year for sure.
This season has been a work in progress but if we can find the right combo, this team isn't dead just yet. The single biggest factor against our admission to the tourney is a 5-13 record vs the top 50 RPI. That doesn't speak well of us. However, only UF and Miami have played more top 50 games on the year. I'd say if we can get to .500 in conference (we're 6-9 right now), I bet we make it. That needs to start with a solid showing this weekend and get some confidence back.

Well, if we manage to pick up a series win this weekend things might get back on track. But we'll still have to take care of the mediocre teams in the SEC like Mizzou, Bama and Tennessee.
