ESPN vs. Rivals (2009 Player Rankings) - Bing it on

For the most part, ESPN and Rivals included the same players in their respective rankings with each player ranked pretty similarly (e.g., in my mind the difference between 50 and 100 is pretty insignificant, although I did include a few). Below are those players with the biggest difference in rankings. I did not intend to leave off A&M, Vanderbilt and Kentucky but that is the way the rankings worked out. Who was right as to each player? Who wins the final tally?

I understand your confusion. What we have above is what is called information. It is a primitive device which was once used to generate thought and discussion.

Not trying to prove or accomplish anything. Simply listing the players from 2009 class where ESPN and Rivals had the greatest disagreement. Most people seem to think ESPN sucks. This is the chance to see if perception matches reality. ESPN's biggest misses were Chris Faulk (underrated), Kendall Kelly (overrated) and Fletcher Cox (underrated). Rivals' biggest misses were Tyrik Rollison (overrated), Michael Bowman (overrated) and Rod Woodson (overrated).

I prefer Google, but I'm not a judging guy.

Janzen was undersized for a safety, but probably the best DB at Tennessee in the last 10 years not named Eric Berry. Rivals had it right.
Jerod Askew never played a snap for VOLS. Gigantic bust.

The huge discrepancy in Chris Faulk's rating is my favorite. Guess rivals got that one.

It's really puzzling how ESPN can be so terrible at football recruiting /scouting with all of the resources they have.

This is probably the worst thread I've ever seen posted on this board
