I think you are a lawyer, so you know what I'm saying when I say that with a high profile case, you have to really get a good result or you will get scrutinized. So while you have a point, it could do damage if he violates the parole that his initial sentence was so light.

I agree, but I'm of the opinion that DA's should avoid the urge to treat a high profile case any differently than the others.

He should be punished for his crime and not for the magnification of the crime do to a football rivalry. I think the sentence is fair, but I realize there are very reasonable opinions that are different from mine.
