Heading into spring practice, what are everyone's thoughts on if we will be improved, stay the same or decline at the various positions generally.

QB: Improved. Can't be worse. More competition.
RB: Improved. Josey.
WR: Improved. Year under DGB's belt. Didn't lose a ton.
TE: Improved. Culkin back = More depth
OL: Improved. Health back. Beefed up in off season=Dedicated.

DE: Same. To be honest, mind went blank on who we lost.
DL: Decline. Lost Richardson.
LB: Same. Lost some talent but talent filling in.
DB: Same/Improved. Not sure it's the talent as it is the coaching/philosophy taught.

Any thoughts before we hit spring practices?

I just hope Pinkel is smart enough to use the skill points we get from spring ball on Durability ratings.

QB will definitely be improved. JF will be on a mission to prove doubters wrong. CB and MM will be on a mission to prove that they can take the reins. Will be an interesting battle.

RB lost a tough runner in KL, but gets HJ back. If HJ is near what he used to be, I say definitely improved. Also, having Steward, Hansbrough, MM, and Abbington there will provide a lot of competition.

WR lost a huge piece in Moe, but return a lot and add a 5* transfer in White as well. They will be greatly improved. DGB, Lucas, Washington, White, Sasser, Hunt are all big time WR's IMO...and there are others who aren't far behind.

TE - will be interesting to see how Culkin plays since he RS last season. For now, I will say slightly improved. That may change after the spring game.

OL - Most Improved...no doubt. Top 12 OL average something like 310-315 pounds, up probably 20 pounds or so over the top 12 OL from last season. We actually have depth this year as well, something we didn't have last season.

DL - Decline. Lost Richardson which is huge. I don't think the drop off will be as much as others think though.

LB - Decline. Again, don't think the drop off will be much, but we lost two studs in Gooden and Ebner.

DB - Improved. EJ is back. Ponder is coming in off a pretty good season. Lots of young, talented players battling for playing time at both S and CB. As far as the coaching, I think Grinch has only been there a year or two...this year will tell what kind of coach he is.

I had forgotten that we have the JUCO kid coming in too.

Im excited to see the QB competition play out. Hopefully I will going to the first scrimmage on April 6th so I will see some of it. Also Love hearing fewer no back sets. Henson seems to be installing what most of us were asking for last season. And having fewer no back sets should help with pass protection.

I don't know if I'd keep LB's at 'same' after losing Gooden.. but otherwise good list.

Yeah I'm just really excited to see who gets the starting QB job.

I want Mauk to come in and wow, but I also would like to see Franklin come back to what we thought was his previous form.
