Here's a fun fact:

This is about to be the second year in a row in which the men's basketball team is the only team NOT to make the postseason of any sport on campus.

Here's another fun fact: We have enough talent to beat Southern, Vanderbilt, and manage AT LEAST a split with Georgia and LSU.

Yet another fun fact: Billy Kennedy is now 31-32 as head coach. He has a total of 25 regular season conference losses.

To put it in perspective:

Mark Turgeon had a TOTAL of 26 conference losses in 4 seasons

Billy Gillispie had a TOTAL of 17 conference losses in 3 seasons

MELVIN WATKINS had a 9-23 conference record after two seasons (0.281). Kennedy's pct is 0.306 (11-25).

frickING WOW!!! WHAT A GREAT COACH! He's 2 TENTHS OF A PERCENTAGE POINT BETTER THAN MELVIN WATKINS WAS AFTER 2 YEARS!!

Edit:

Season 1 conference finish

Melvin Watkins (1998-1999): tied for 10th (out of 12 teams)

Billy Kennedy (2011-2012): tied for 8th (out of 10 teams)

Watkins Season 1 = Kennedy Season 1

Season 2 conference finish

Melvin Watkins (1999-2000): tied for 8th (out of 12 teams)

Billy Kennedy (2012-2013): 11th out of 14 teams

Watkins Season 2 > Kennedy Season 2
