btw that MTSU loss really sucks. If we would have won, we'd likely still be in even with crapping the bed against MSU and USC. Their RPI is 25.

Southern Miss lossing helps, but at the very least we need to win out with probably 2 wins in the SEC tourny.

That's two years in a row that beating MTSU would have really helped our chances.

I think we need to win tonight and beat LSU, then we need to win 2 in the tourney. That puts us at 25-9.

The thing we have going for us this year I think is we finally have a national story that interests a lot of people.

I think that if the tourney committee is sitting there comparing us against say Temple then they pick us because the Marshall Henderson is another good story line in the tournament and is a fun player to watch, and will sell tickets, and lead to more viewers. I think they really look at that too along with "tournament resumes"

Agree. This win may or may not help. Bama is an RPI Top 100 team.

^^^ Is correct. Committee also looks at style of play. They prefer a high scoring type game. No one wants to watch a boring arse 50-45 game.

The ironic thing that could keep us out of the Tourny is fan support.

FWIW, I think it continues to be a possibility until Selection Sunday just based on how bad other bubble teams (not just SEC) have been.

That bubble keeps getting softer. This is painful but it's not out of reach yet. All of the last four in, according to Lunardi anyways, have a good shot at losing this weekend.
